Badge System is HERE!!!

Just in time for the summer heat, the Badge System will be ready for this weekend. We will begin handing out badges this Friday 06/25/2010 during our regular staffed hours.  We know it is a long time coming, but it is finally here. We thank those that have been patient with us during this time while the work was being done. As a reminder, our hours will increase to 5:00am – 10:00pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00am – 8:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

Badging System Coming

V-Fit is pleased to announce that the Badge system for entrance into the gym will be installed this week.  With the new badge system our clients and customers will be able to access our gym from 5:00 am – 10:00pm Monday through Friday and 8:00am – 8:00pm Saturday and Sunday.  This will change our current staffed hours to 8:00am – 6:00pm Monday through Friday.

Benefits of Breakfast

As your mom may have told you – breakfast may be your most important meal. After eight hours or so, without a meal or snack, your body needs energy from food to refuel. Those who skip breakfast run on empty. If you’re one of them, don’t be surprised if you feel cranky or tired at some point in the morning. On the flip side, making time for this morning meal may:

Boost Brain Power.  Research suggests that breakfast helps kids do better at school by improving memory and problem-solving ability. Adult breakfast eaters may concentrate better at work than those who blow off breakfast.

Help you smile when you step on the scale. People who regularly eat breakfast are less likely to be overweight than those who bypass it. A possible reason:  Missing meals makes you hungry, which sets you up to overeating later in the day.

Give you a nutritional edge. Breakfast offers a jump-start on fitting healthful foods into your daily diet. Take oatmeal, for example. It contains soluble fiber, which may help lower cholesterol and protect against heart disease. Likewise, calcium-rich low fat milk is a bone builder.

Need ideas for a quick breakfast?

 For a quick, nutrient-packed breakfast, consider these possibilities from the American Dietetic Association:

  • Peanut butter spread on whole-wheat toast with low fat milk
  • Instant oatmeal mixed with dried cranberries
  • Lean deli meat on a whole-wheat English muffin and a glass of vegetable juice
  • Low-fat yogurt and whole grain cereal topped with fruit
  • Breakfast smoothie made by blending low-fat milk, fruit and a teaspoon of bran.
